CELTIC
JEWELLERY
There seem to be eight basic forms of Celtic Knot.
Significantly, the knot is a complete loop with no beginning or
end. Our beautiful Celtic jewellery, such as the
Triquetra and Shield knot, are made from 925 sterling silver.
Celtic Knots are associated with the Celtic people and their decoration
of Bible manuscripts.
However, the earliest forms pre-date
Christian times, possibly Norse in origin. The earliest examples of Knotwork
designs still in existence are from part of a Gospel book, now
in Durham Cathedral. |
